Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter... and Spring (2003)

against the backdrop of a dreamlike korean monastery, immersed in a forest, life is retracted and stopped in its flow, which seems to follow the rhythm of the seasons. a child monk learns, from the teaching of the old monk, the meaning of life (spring). at 17 he knows love and sex (summer). a 30, guilty of murder, returns in search of peace and expiation (autumn) and, finally, now old, welcomes the son that an unknown woman abandons on the stairs of the monastery (winter). a child monk and an old one again. the cycle of life begins again.
