Inventiamo l'amore (1938)

a young provincial, who inherited a certain sum, decides to move to rome with the keen desire to enter the world of cinema; accompanied by his girlfriend, barely in the capital, the two become easy prey for some criminals who, with the excuse of letting them enter the world of celluloid, put a great deal of money on them. a former bricklayer, having a girlfriend with him, proposes the financing of a subject written by the boy with the obvious intention of being able to obtain the favors of the woman. in turn, the young man woos a screen diva, but once the money has run out and fallen into the hands of a loan shark, the two decide to flee and return to their hometown, where they can marry and no longer think about cinema.
