The Law (1958)

enrico arrives in a small corsican village dominated by two characters: don cesare and matteo brigante. marietta, a girl in the service of don cesare falls in love with enrico, who, however, tries to establish himself in the work before thinking about marriage. the girl then, to shorten the time, steals a large sum from a tourist and puts the empty wallet in matteo's pocket, to take revenge for a violence suffered. the man is arrested, but the complaint. don cesare, now close to death, gives the police a sum of money equal to that stolen from marietta, exonerating her. the girl will then be able to marry enrico.
