pietà per chi cade (1953)

convinced that her husband carlo died in the war, anna accepts andrea's court and joins him. when carlo returns home, overcome by jealousy, he kills his rival. the wife, to save him from a harsh sentence, admits, during the trial, to have started the relationship with andrea before her husband left. destroyed in her affections anna decides to kill herself, but her daughter's intervention saves her.
