The Law Is the Law (1958)

an italian smuggler, giuseppe lapaglia, is haunted by a french policeman, fernand pastorelli, proud of his birth. when it is discovered that, due to a strange game of destiny, he was born on the italian side of a house divided in two by the border, giuseppe takes the ball and denounces it, making him lose all rights. in the end it will be the smuggler himself who will rehabilitate the enemy by discovering that the boundary line had been arbitrarily moved by a host for tourist appeal and to increase business.
