racing stripes (2005)

in the midst of a storm, a traveling circus accidentally loses a very precious load: a newborn zebra. the puppy, still staggering, is rescued by a farmer named nolan walsh who takes him home with him to give to his daughter channing. walsh, a former thoroughbred trainer, abandoned horse training to pursue a quiet life with channing on a small kentucky farm. the small zebra is christened 'striscia' da channing and is soon presented to the group of unfortunate residents of the hague, led by a grumpy shetland pony named gegé and by bocca di rosa, a wise old goat that keeps everyone in line. the group is joined by gozzo, an extravagant city pelican who has decided to take refuge in the countryside until the 'storm' has passed in new jersey. a rooster named becco tosto keeps everyone alert with his hysterical song that announces the dawn, while a hound with the inappropriate name scheggia keeps an eye on all the events of the farm - between a nap and the other.
